Baron Auto Scam Blog

10/29/2010 - Thanks Mrs. P!

I just wanted to say thank you for the following email, and time you spent writing it out.

Hi Jake,

You really should go for number 1 on Baron Auto Scam because this will really get a point across that even though the buyers are partially to blame because we did sign the contract let it be known that car dealerships need to start being HONEST with their customers and potential buyers because that is how business should be conducted. All I can say is that Pastor Chevy in Westhampton Beach was a place of integrity and honesty when it came to their customers; however they were forced to close their doors due to the buy-out from Chevy. Regarding the people mentioned from Baron who lost their jobs because of your website I have my doubts because the name of the sales person is still listed on the contact info for their cars. If I had a sales person that was dishonest just so he or she can get a sale they would be let go on the spot and I would have nothing to do with them. If they were let go than why is the name still listed on the contact info?

Thank you

That's a fantastic, and you are completely correct, and I love how you said car dealerships need to start being honest.  Everyone is aware of the stigma of a used car salesman, but it doesn't have to be that way.  Unfortunately, the salesman that are good, get a bad wrap from guys like Joe Giordano, and Michelle Scalise.  Whatever the situation, honesty is definitely what everyone is looking for.

10/28/2010 - Facebook

Facebook is a fantastic medium.  I was thinking about making a Facebook fan page for Baron Auto Sucks.  Although they don't have 'fans' anymore, maybe people will just 'like' me!  I think i'm pretty likable.  And if I don't get people liking me, i'll probably stab myself in the thigh since that hurts the least.  It'll take me some time to get it up because I have so much going on right now, but i'll update with new stories when I get a little bit of free time.

Viva la resistance!

10/21/2010 - Should I really worry about rankings?

Ok, so now i'm sitting in the top 3 spot for everything Baron right now, and i'm just wondering if I should keep working my magic to get it higher, or is #3 good enough?

Let me know, send me an email.  I'm thinking don't stop until I get to #1, but it's a lot of work that i'm doing at night to get the site so high.  I figure if I do another 2 or 3 hours a night almost every night for a month or so, it should push me where I need to be.

10/15/2010 - More tidbits from Tim

Ok, so yesterday we got news of the letting go of Joe G, Michelle S, and some other random character.  It stinks, I know.  But life happens, and we go on to bigger and better things.  Or we don't, that's not really for me to say.

In case you missed yesterday's post, you can go here to read about it, then come back: Yesterdays Post

Anyway, here's the pertinent information from the email correspondence from Tim.

Hey Jake,

Just thought I would let you know that you are a dick for getting Joe and Michelle fired and I hope you burn in hell with the rest of your fans of baron auto scam.

Oodles of love,
Tim

Whoa!

Actually, Tim never wrote that, I was just playing.  Here's the real email!

Hey,

One more thing, I was showing some of the guys from work this, and they made a good point.

YOU AND ALL YOUR READERS FROM NOW ON SHOULD READ WHAT YOU SIGN, THAT'S WHAT ALL THE PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE ABOUT, SURPRISINGLY ENOUGH LOL NOT ISSUES WITH LEMONS OR PROBLEM CARS, JUST PAPERWORK.

So maybe your site can help everyone, customers and salespeople.
Customer's so they read before they sign anything and salespeople so they don't have any bad postings of them up either.  Hey, I'm surprised all dealerships don't have a blankblankblank autoscam...lol

Thanks
Tim

You know what Tim, you are 100% right, and the fault does partially fall on those who are doing the complaining.  But we would never be in the position we are in if it weren't for the underhanded tactics some of these salesman use by getting us to trust them early in the process and just changing things at the last minute.

10/14/2010 - I think i'm in love with Tim

Ok, so i've had a pretty wild day.  I got a flat tire last night (put on doughnut, moved on) and spent most of the day waiting to get the tire replaced.  Totally sucked!

But, as I waited for the tire to get fixed, I got an email that made me laugh, cry, and piss myself all at the same time.  I'm just kidding, I didn't cry.

Anyway, the email was from Tim.  Tim seems like a pretty nice guy, he was so nice, that he even let me know that Joe and Michele and one other unnamed character was let go from Baron Auto Maxx in Medford.

And you know what, that sucks for them.  I don't like the fact that someone lost their job, and I can only be partially to blame.  And the reason that I am partially to blame is that I made a voice for all of the people who have been screwed by Baron Auto.  With that knowledge, here's the email in it's entirety (not sure if I spelled that correctly, it looks wonky).

Dear Jake,

I am writing you this letter from the bottom of my heart,(I am in the car business, for various reasons I wont say where I work) I thought you should know that because of your vendetta for Baron Automall, you might get some satisfaction in knowing that Joe G and two other employees of that store 1 including Michelle S are no longer with the company.  Maybe you are satisfied with those results, and maybe you won't be able to sleep at night knowing that something you were a big part of caused a couple of people with families that they need to support they're jobs.  Everybody in retail, no matter what you sell, there will be complaints.  That's what happens when you deal with the public. Everyone has their own point of view and remember there are 3 sides to every story in life.  To know that people's careers on the line and you were responsible for their demise must make you feel really good! Or, on the other hand, maybe it doesn't.  Maybe you feel bad, is that really gonna change things now?

One last thing in closing, judging by the complaints on your site, it seems that they gave you and your fan club a choice if you wanted to purchase the car or not, you CHOSE YES! Remember that? That's why this site is in affect, So ultimately, everyone has a choice and when people feel that they made the wrong choice after the fact I guess your motto is to "blame the other person instead of looking in the mirror."  Either way, no harm done to me, I didn't even know them, I just knew of them through your site which the ratings are soaring because of all the buzz in the car business about it and everyone in the local industry talking about, (probably not high ratings from customers) BTW, I know this won't be posted on your site, I wanted to share this with you for your conscience.

Best of luck to you

Tim

I agree with Tim in some areas though.  He says that I had the choice whether or not to buy the car.  Joe Giordano also had the choice to not screw me.  As a customer, we tend to put faith in the person who is going to give us goods or services.  If those goods or services are not given properly, we have every right to complain.  Which I did, and it fell on deaf ears.  If the issue was fixed early on, the website would have never been created which would mean Joe G and Michelle S would still have jobs (that of course, if the loss of those jobs stemmed from this website that is).

There is actually a string of emails from Tim, i'll pick out the goodies and make a post tomorrow when I get a few moments.

10/13/2010 - September 2010 Stats

Let's mark this a day of infamy!!!  Although we are almost at the halfway point of October, i've finally taken a moment to check the website stats for September.  And they are looking pretty awesome.  Although it's only a 15% (or just about) increase in readership, it's still an increase.  And an increase means that I will soon be getting paid millions and millions of dollars to write about how douche baggy Baron Auto is.  Anyway, like I was saying, in August we were sitting at 210 visitors for the month, and in September we are at 244.  That's a 34 person increase between the two months.

Thanks for the love everyone!  You're fantastic!

Beyond site stuff, i've been helping out a few businesses with websites and website promotion and stuff like that, but have yet to rip anyone off.  I've been doing this for years now, and I still just can't wrap my head around how people can quite literally steal so much money from people that are unknowing.  Messed up.  Kinda like Baron Auto, right?!?!  See what I did there?  I tied in the fact that Baron Auto can steal money for goods and it be legal, and I could probably do the same, but wouldn't because I have a conscience.

Back to work!

10/5/2010 - I received an email today!

Ok, so i've gotten a few emails in the past few weeks, but i've been way too busy to post any of them.  BUT, today I got an email from Chuck who fights for our freedom every day in the military and thought i'll put him right at the top of the list of stories to be posted.  Here's his story:

Hey Jake,

I'm in the military and saw your website when I was trying to fix a problem with my bank about the final payment on my loan...... I have  a story to tell but it may not be finished today. I have to admit though I'm partly to blame.

In May of 2004 I needed to trade in my car for a bigger vehicle so I could take better care of my son who was 4 months old at the time. My first mistake was telling my wife to go by herself. When she picked out the vehicle, I was originally fine with her choice ( 2001 Chevy Blazer) even though I had expressly told her that we needed a Minivan in case we wanted more kids. To say the least I should have went with my gut. There were parts missing, like the valence cover for the back and the rear wiper didn't work ( and doesn't to this day) the check engine light came on a couple of months later and we still have not been able to clear it. And now that I'm ready to pay off the loan the bank says that my payoff is 2850 more than I originally agreed. In all fairness, Danny had told me to tell the bank that the car was an LT instead of an LS or we could not get the loan so I agreed, but I can't help but wonder what would have happened if I had gone by myself to look there. Because of your blog I am calling the bank to get another copy of the original bank loan papers and compare them to mine which I have to find. If you do post this I want everyone to read this part very carefully:
IF YOU PURCHASED A CAR FROM ONE OF THESE "DEALERS" CALL YOUR BANK AND SEND THEM A COPY OF YOUR FINANCE AGREEMENT.... COMPARE IT WITH THE ONE YOU HAVE AND SEE IF ITS THE SAME. COMPARE IT TO THE SALES RECEIPT YOU SIGNED. MAYBE THERE CAN BE A WAY TO CATCH THESE GUYS.

Thanks for your hard work with this website. Maybe you could recommend some better dealers for these people.

Once I start getting good reviews on other dealers in the area, i'll be sure to get some info up for everyone!  Once again, thank you Chuck for your email and the fact that you are out there every day protecting us!
