10/21/2010 - Should I really worry about rankings?

Ok, so now i'm sitting in the top 3 spot for everything Baron right now, and i'm just wondering if I should keep working my magic to get it higher, or is #3 good enough?

Let me know, send me an email.  I'm thinking don't stop until I get to #1, but it's a lot of work that i'm doing at night to get the site so high.  I figure if I do another 2 or 3 hours a night almost every night for a month or so, it should push me where I need to be.

10/13/2010 - September 2010 Stats

Let's mark this a day of infamy!!!  Although we are almost at the halfway point of October, i've finally taken a moment to check the website stats for September.  And they are looking pretty awesome.  Although it's only a 15% (or just about) increase in readership, it's still an increase.  And an increase means that I will soon be getting paid millions and millions of dollars to write about how douche baggy Baron Auto is.  Anyway, like I was saying, in August we were sitting at 210 visitors for the month, and in September we are at 244.  That's a 34 person increase between the two months.

Thanks for the love everyone!  You're fantastic!

Beyond site stuff, i've been helping out a few businesses with websites and website promotion and stuff like that, but have yet to rip anyone off.  I've been doing this for years now, and I still just can't wrap my head around how people can quite literally steal so much money from people that are unknowing.  Messed up.  Kinda like Baron Auto, right?!?!  See what I did there?  I tied in the fact that Baron Auto can steal money for goods and it be legal, and I could probably do the same, but wouldn't because I have a conscience.

Back to work!

9/20/2010 - Sorry, been very busy

Hey there loyal readers, sorry it's been a while, but i've been really busy lately with a lot of different things, that nobody really wants to know about.  But I do have info.  And info is good!

So, in the month of August, we have a total of 210 visitors, and 68.10% of those visitors are NEW!  So, that means we are starting to get more repeat visitors, and a little less unique (new) visitors.  But that's fine, since we aren't getting too many new inquiries about used cars due to the slow economy right now.  No worries, it'll all pick up again in due time.

Other than that, all is still the same.  I have recently received a few emails from people who are looking for new / used cars, and I know that the information is worth A LOT.  I know because I used to work for a company that would sell that information to buyers.  If you need a car, i'll be more than happy to get you in touch with people that I personally trust, or I know that I see as trustworthy.

9/9/2010 - Happy New Year!

For all my Jewish friends and readers out there.  I just wanted to say happy new year, and I wish nothing but the best.

And here's a story from an employee that learned about all the wonderful treats Baron hands out.  When I say treats, I mean hoaxes!  Because I love to give out hoaxes during Halloween, unfortunately, these guys do it all the time!

The person asked to be kept anonymous, so, I will call this person Spencer (not his real name).

There finance managers are the scum of the earth, and i personally have witnessed, them lying about payments, forging signatures, charging up to 4000 for VIN etch, Also the more money someone puts down the more they borrow from the bank, and they use the customers down payment for sneaky extras that they finagle into the payment without people knowing!. I know so much dirt on these guys and i know joe giordano personally, and the owners. The owners are blood thirsty thieves, and i have witnessed people crying because baron ripped them off. In 2006 they averaged 7000 profit a car at the outlet alone. They mark up interest rates, lie to customers, and laugh about it...i'm fsxckin serious. The acts i have witnessed are felonies. Danny is the finance guy at the automall, and he is ruthless.

Well, thank you Spence (not his real name) for all your time you took to send me an email.  I'm glad I can post on the site, and would love to hear more from you.  Nothing like hearing stories from the inside!

Spence (not his real name) said I should go to Fox 5 and do those 'shame shame shame' things or something similar.  I think I just might go that route.  We'll have to see if I need to take such drastic actions down the road.  For now, being in the top 5 websites in google makes me content that people are being deterred from going to any Baron dealership.  It sucks for the people who work there, especially the good guys, because they are losing business, but it's a price they pay for not keeping other honorable and trustworthy.

7/22/2010 - This story is about Baron of Brooklyn

Aaaaaand, here's a story from a loyal reader by the name of Amy.

Hey Jake,

Just saw your website and thought you'd like to hear my heartwarming story about Baron.

I'm from MN and me and my fiance flew to NY to buy an '04 Benz E500 we found online from them (on Utica Ave, Brooklyn).  First of all they wouldn't accept our cashier's check, which should have been a big red flag, and they said we had to finance with them.  We had to argue to be able to see the car before filling out the paper work, because they said "what's the point of seeing the car if you aren't approved for financing?"

6 hours later (NO SHIT)... we finally were sent back to the financing office.  We were so pissed off because they had us sitting there for no apparent reason waiting for hours, even though we knew from the moment we got there which car we were buying.  In the financing office some dude with crooked teeth talked at us 100 mph as we went through the half blank paper work (They said they'd fill it in after we left so we wouldn't have to wait there anymore... another big red flag... seems so obvious now.)  Then they sent us away w/ only one piece of paper as our reciept, which we had to ask for, and said we didn't need any other copies of anything.

Anyway they forged my fiances signature on  a revised bill of sale saying we bought the car for over $3,000 than we agreed to, forged the loan contract, and also did not reimburse us $3,000 for the warranty we cancelled that they pressured us to buy, saying we would get a full refund.  This was back in Feb, 8 months ago.  So that plus interest... they have stolen and costed us over $8,000 not including attorney fees.  We finally hired a lawyer and are in litigation, and they are now denying they did anything at all.

From the moment we walked in there the scamming began.  It was well planned out and deliberate.  DO NOT go there.  They are scam artists and theives.

Thanks for your website!  I didn't realize Baron was such a big company.  That makes it so much more disgusting what they do.

Take Care!  Amy

7/20/2010 - I love me a good Baron Auto Story

This is a story from a reader by the name of Dee.  Unedited, just as all prior emails.  Check it out, I hope you guys find it as intriguing as I do!  This story takes place at the Baron Auto on Hollis Avenue in Queens, NY.

Hi Jake
Dude I love your website. A friend just emailed me your website link. Last year I was looking for a car in a local newspaper. At the time I drove a 2001 Lexus GS and was car shopping for my wife. I came across and ad for a 2003 Grey Lincoln LS for a decent price so I decided to check it out. I arrived at Baron Auto Mall on Jamaica Ave in Hollis, NY  and asked to speak to a salesman about the car and was told to wait a while. They offered me a cup of coffee and were very polite. I waited about 10 minutes and then decided to go outside for a smoke. When I came back they said that the salesman for the car is still not available. I started to get frustrated and asked to see the car anyway. I was again told not to worry and just sit and wait a bit longer. I sat again for another 10 minutes and took it upon myself to look at the car without assistance. When I got to the showroom to my surprise the salesman was by the car with a mechanic and smoke was coming out of the engine. They had me in the front for 30 minutes trying to clear out all the smoke before they showed me the car. When I asked him what the problem was he told me not to worry about it and they will have the car serviced and the problem would be fixed. I was no longer interested in the car. The salesman wanted to show me other cars but first he wanted to run my credit. I told him that it was OK and I saw a few cars that I took interest in. I signed a release and gave then my driver's license.
The next 4 hours was hell. Not only did they show me cars that I noticed had problems but they showed me cars way out of my price range. I would have just walked out of there but the sales manager disappeared with my license and no one could find him. I realized I was being held hostage until I made a deal. Anyway I never did get a car from them and I have several friends and co-works with similar stories.
For anyone who gets to read this understand this at BARON AUTO MALL they are all the same. They send these salesmen to school to learn how to be shady. You walking in there is like a lamb being sent to the lions den. You have little of no chance. I would never return to any of there locations.

I have a friend who went to the Selden location that had an issue and it took 4 months to correct it. She went to co-sign on a loan and instead her name was the only one on the paper work. THESE PEOPLE ARE SHARKS. Money is thier only goal. In their business they also have a saying there is an ass for every seat. Please don't become one.

Thanks for the story Dee, we are all now more knowledgeable because of your contribution.  Thank you for your time!
