Baron Auto Scam Blog
| 4/4/2012 - Hey there Googlers!!! | Many of our visitors have been coming from Google, which is pretty awesome considering that Google is used by nearly everyone. I spent a few minutes doing some research on some keywords for the site. And here is what I found out. I realized that instead of Baron Auto taking responsibility for their actions, Baron Auto Mall of Medford are trying to 'bury' Baron Auto Scam by creating multiple sites to take the place and slowly push my site out of the rankings. I just won't allow that. To top it off, they are only looking out for themselves, and are probably paying about $1000 a month to do all of this. And now all the other Baron Auto franchises are still taking hits from the devious tactics that Baron Auto of Medford has decided to train their sales people in.
With that, I will keep pushing to be number 1 when searching the following terms. Baron Auto, Baron Auto Group, Baron Auto Mall, Baron Auto Outlet and Baron Medford.
The trick to this sort of stuff takes time. I am very proud that I have been able to deter a few people from going to any Baron Auto location, and they deserve what they get considering their sneaky sales tactics. The only problem I have is that I had to build this site in the first place. Some people are devious and they deserve to be known.

Hey kids, I've been insanely busy working on some other projects, but life is going pretty well for me for the time being. We are all aware that life is definitely a rollercoaster, and you really just gotta hang on for the ride.
I am sending an update because I gave a tip to a reader regarding Baron Auto Mall of 112 and because of that tip, he realized that they (Baron Auto Mall) decided to do some doctoring to make it seem like he was getting a good deal. And with that, he decided to walk out and most likely will not return.
Well done buddy!!!
Feel free to send me any of your stories (regarding Baron Auto)!!! Or drop me an email if you have any questions before you go to bargain with anyone.

Ok, so this is awesome and sad all at the same time.
On 6/28/2011, a new site visitor went over to Baron Auto Maxx in Medford and got screwed. Perhaps not screwed, because this customer was very keen to the strangeness that goes hand in hand with the guys over at Baron Auto Maxx. But, whatever it was, it was dirty.
So, here's the story based on how I read the email: Customer needs a car. Customer goes shopping for a car. Salesperson tells them all these wonderful things to get them to buy said car. They sell said car. After signing loan papers and all that fun stuff, the final loan price was different than what was originally agreed upon. The price was modified by 'adding features' to the car that never existed in the first place. Customer realizes something is fishy and get in touch with the company that approved the loan, news 12 and the Suffolk County DA. Loan is now reversed, and Baron Auto Maxx has some explaining to do.
To top it all off, this is the best part. The person who made the sale is someone by the name of Danny and Joe Giordano. So weird, because a few months ago, we were told that Joe G no longer works for said company.

I got an email over the weekend while in Miami for my brother in laws graduation at the University of Miami, it was very well written and had lots of beautiful information regarding the guys out east at Baron Auto Maxx.
Because of this emails excellent grammar, I figured I would spend a few minutes formatting it for you. The people!
And here we go:
Unreal these people. I spent about 2 months looking all over for a 2006 to 2007 BMW 750LI. I finally found one for an advertised price of $26,900 at Baron Auto in Long
Island (good price) talked with Michelle multiple times and went back and forth. Financing was approved through Chase and I made arrangements to fly into
Long Island and drive the car home.
I was told the car would be detailed. When I arrived it was a complete mess..
I was told they did not have time to clean it as the deal was "rushed" together.
When we got there the price was higher due to "fees" from chase. i said whatever
and started driving said car home. Immediately drove like crap. Called Michelle and
was told it was probably in need of an alignment. Michelle then proceeded to tell me to take it somewhere and we will refund the
money. When I got back to Rochester I took the car to the local BMW dealer.
Needless to say, a complete mess. Brakes were shot, wheels bent, stereo not
functioning properly, computer updates, GPS not working, etc. spent $3800 in
repairs to get the car running properly. I was then advised by Baron to fax the invoice and I would
be refunded.. We both know how that turned out. I have numerous calls into Joe
(all unreturned) and Michelle keeps telling me she is sorry. Today I text
Michelle's cell # and tell her I have given up. Filing a complaint with NYS
Attorney General, BBB, and my attorney. I was told "i understand". I then advised her and asked her if she was aware of all the negative
feedback on her scum bag dealership. She said "yes, that's why she doesn't work
there anymore" somehow I highly doubt this.
And that's where I stand.
I have a car that I put $3500 down on, $3800 in repairs, and still needs
$1200 to drive properly with the bent wheel.
JOE and MICHELLE can rot in hell. I can't say I am surprised in the least bit. In the above email, it seems as if Michelle Scalise had left on her own, and wasn't let go. Whatever the truth, i'm right there with Brian. If there were a hell (which I don't believe exists), I would say they should rot in it. Instead, they will leave a legacy far beyond one could have ever dreamed. And this legacy will follow both of them for many many years until this website eventually disappears.

Hello guys, it's been a while, and I've had a ton of work that I have been working on regarding side projects and search stuff, and I haven't been able to post any emails lately. Just want you to know I am receiving all your email, and I'm sorry I haven't been able to get back to most of you, but like I siad, it's really been extremely hectic on this end. Anyway, there was one email that stuck out in my mind, and it's actually favorable to Baron Nissan.
So, here is a quick excerpt of that email:
The guys over at Baron Nissan treated me with courtesy and respect
Ok, that's the short and skinny of the email. She seemed very pleased with the guys over there, I just don't have the time to spell check and reformat the whole email. But, it was a good / heart warming email.

With that in mind, that's what i've been up to for the time being. I am still receiving emails about people's horrific experiences with the people of Baron Auto and all affiliated parties, and I will get them up as soon as I possibly can.
I have also found out that the email about Joe Giordano and Michelle Scalise is nothing but a bunch of bullshit!

I just wanted to say thank you for the following email, and time you spent writing it out.
Hi Jake,
You really should go for number 1 on Baron Auto Scam because
this will really get a point across that even though the buyers are partially to
blame because we did sign the contract let it be known that car dealerships
need to start being HONEST with their customers and potential buyers because
that is how business should be conducted. All I can say is that Pastor Chevy
in Westhampton Beach was a place of integrity and honesty when it came to their
customers; however they were forced to close their doors due to the buy-out
from Chevy. Regarding the people mentioned from Baron who lost their jobs
because of your website I have my doubts because the name of the sales
person is still listed on the contact info for their cars. If I had a sales
person that was dishonest just so he or she can get a sale they would be let
go on the spot and I would have nothing to do with them. If they were let go
than why is the name still listed on the contact info?
Thank you
That's a fantastic, and you are completely correct, and I love how you said car dealerships need to start being honest. Everyone is aware of the stigma of a used car salesman, but it doesn't have to be that way. Unfortunately, the salesman that are good, get a bad wrap from guys like Joe Giordano, and Michelle Scalise. Whatever the situation, honesty is definitely what everyone is looking for.

Ok, so yesterday we got news of the letting go of Joe G, Michelle S, and some other random character. It stinks, I know. But life happens, and we go on to bigger and better things. Or we don't, that's not really for me to say.
In case you missed yesterday's post, you can go here to read about it, then come back: Yesterdays Post
Anyway, here's the pertinent information from the email correspondence from Tim.
Hey Jake,
Just thought I would let you know that you are a dick for getting Joe and Michelle fired and I hope you burn in hell with the rest of your fans of baron auto scam.
Oodles of love, Tim
Whoa!
Actually, Tim never wrote that, I was just playing. Here's the real email!
Hey,
One more thing, I was showing some of the guys from work this, and they
made a good point.
YOU AND ALL YOUR READERS FROM NOW ON SHOULD READ WHAT YOU SIGN, THAT'S WHAT
ALL THE PROBLEMS SEEM TO BE ABOUT, SURPRISINGLY ENOUGH LOL NOT ISSUES WITH
LEMONS OR PROBLEM CARS, JUST PAPERWORK.
So maybe your site can help everyone, customers and salespeople.
Customer's so they read before they sign anything and salespeople so they
don't have any bad postings of them up either. Hey, I'm surprised all
dealerships don't have a blankblankblank autoscam...lol
Thanks
Tim
You know what Tim, you are 100% right, and the fault does partially fall on those who are doing the complaining. But we would never be in the position we are in if it weren't for the underhanded tactics some of these salesman use by getting us to trust them early in the process and just changing things at the last minute.

Ok, so i've had a pretty wild day. I got a flat tire last night (put on doughnut, moved on) and spent most of the day waiting to get the tire replaced. Totally sucked!
But, as I waited for the tire to get fixed, I got an email that made me laugh, cry, and piss myself all at the same time. I'm just kidding, I didn't cry.
Anyway, the email was from Tim. Tim seems like a pretty nice guy, he was so nice, that he even let me know that Joe and Michele and one other unnamed character was let go from Baron Auto Maxx in Medford.
And you know what, that sucks for them. I don't like the fact that someone lost their job, and I can only be partially to blame. And the reason that I am partially to blame is that I made a voice for all of the people who have been screwed by Baron Auto. With that knowledge, here's the email in it's entirety (not sure if I spelled that correctly, it looks wonky).
Dear Jake,
I am writing you this letter from the bottom of my heart,(I am in the car
business, for various reasons I wont say where I work) I thought you should know
that because of your vendetta for Baron Automall, you might get some
satisfaction in knowing that Joe G and two other employees of that store 1
including Michelle S are no longer with the company. Maybe you are satisfied
with those results, and maybe you won't be able to sleep at night knowing that
something you were a big part of caused a couple of people with families that
they need to support they're jobs. Everybody in retail, no matter what you
sell, there will be complaints. That's what happens when you deal with the
public. Everyone has their own point of view and remember there are 3 sides to
every story in life. To know that people's careers on the line and you were
responsible for their demise must make you feel really good! Or, on the other
hand, maybe it doesn't. Maybe you feel bad, is that really gonna change things
now?
One last thing in closing, judging by the complaints on your site, it seems
that they gave you and your fan club a choice if you wanted to purchase the car
or not, you CHOSE YES! Remember that? That's why this site is in affect, So
ultimately, everyone has a choice and when people feel that they made the wrong
choice after the fact I guess your motto is to "blame the other person instead
of looking in the mirror." Either way, no harm done to me, I didn't even know
them, I just knew of them through your site which the ratings are soaring
because of all the buzz in the car business about it and everyone in the local
industry talking about, (probably not high ratings from customers) BTW, I know
this won't be posted on your site, I wanted to share this with you for your
conscience.
Best of luck to you
Tim
I agree with Tim in some areas though. He says that I had the choice whether or not to buy the car. Joe Giordano also had the choice to not screw me. As a customer, we tend to put faith in the person who is going to give us goods or services. If those goods or services are not given properly, we have every right to complain. Which I did, and it fell on deaf ears. If the issue was fixed early on, the website would have never been created which would mean Joe G and Michelle S would still have jobs (that of course, if the loss of those jobs stemmed from this website that is).
There is actually a string of emails from Tim, i'll pick out the goodies and make a post tomorrow when I get a few moments.

BUT, today I got an email from Chuck who fights for our freedom every day in the military and thought i'll put him right at the top of the list of stories to be posted. Here's his story:
Hey Jake,
I'm in the military and saw your website when I was trying to fix
a problem with my bank about the final payment on my loan...... I have a story
to tell but it may not be finished today. I have to admit though I'm partly to
blame.
In May of 2004 I needed to trade in my car for a bigger vehicle so I could
take better care of my son who was 4 months old at the time. My first
mistake was telling my wife to go by herself. When she picked out the vehicle, I
was originally fine with her choice ( 2001 Chevy Blazer) even though I had
expressly told her that we needed a Minivan in case we wanted more kids. To say
the least I should have went with my gut. There were parts missing, like the
valence cover for the back and the rear wiper didn't work ( and doesn't to this
day) the check engine light came on a couple of months later and we still have
not been able to clear it. And now that I'm ready to pay off the loan the bank
says that my payoff is 2850 more than I originally agreed. In all fairness,
Danny had told me to tell the bank that the car was an LT instead of an LS or we
could not get the loan so I agreed, but I can't help but wonder what would have
happened if I had gone by myself to look there. Because of your blog I am
calling the bank to get another copy of the original bank loan papers and
compare them to mine which I have to find. If you do post this I want everyone
to read this part very carefully:
IF YOU PURCHASED A CAR FROM ONE OF THESE "DEALERS" CALL YOUR BANK AND SEND THEM A COPY OF YOUR FINANCE AGREEMENT.... COMPARE IT WITH THE ONE YOU HAVE
AND SEE IF ITS THE SAME. COMPARE IT TO THE SALES RECEIPT YOU SIGNED. MAYBE THERE
CAN BE A WAY TO CATCH THESE GUYS.
Thanks for your hard work with this website. Maybe you could recommend some
better dealers for these people. Once I start getting good reviews on other dealers in the area, i'll be sure to get some info up for everyone! Once again, thank you Chuck for your email and the fact that you are out there every day protecting us!

So, in the month of August, we have a total of 210 visitors, and 68.10% of those visitors are NEW! So, that means we are starting to get more repeat visitors, and a little less unique (new) visitors. But that's fine, since we aren't getting too many new inquiries about used cars due to the slow economy right now. No worries, it'll all pick up again in due time.
Other than that, all is still the same. I have recently received a few emails from people who are looking for new / used cars, and I know that the information is worth A LOT. If you need a car, i'll be more than happy to get you in touch with people that I personally trust, or I know that I see as trustworthy.

The person asked to be kept anonymous, so, I will call this person Spencer (not his real name).
There finance managers are the scum of the earth, and i personally have
witnessed, them lying about payments, forging signatures, charging up to 4000
for VIN etch, Also the more money someone puts down the more they borrow from
the bank, and they use the customers down payment for sneaky extras that they
finagle into the payment without people knowing!. I know so much dirt on these
guys and i know joe giordano personally, and the
owners. The owners are blood thirsty thieves, and i have witnessed people crying
because baron ripped them off. In 2006 they averaged 7000 profit a car at the
outlet alone. They mark up interest rates, lie to customers, and laugh about
it...i'm fsxckin serious. The acts i have witnessed are felonies. Danny is
the finance guy at the automall, and he is ruthless.
Well, thank you Spence (not his real name) for all your time you took to send me an email. I'm glad I can post on the site, and would love to hear more from you. Nothing like hearing stories from the inside!
Spence (not his real name) said I should go to Fox 5 and do those 'shame shame shame' things or something similar. I think I just might go that route. We'll have to see if I need to take such drastic actions down the road. For now, being in the top 5 websites in google makes me content that people are being deterred from going to any Baron dealership. It sucks for the people who work there, especially the good guys, because they are losing business, but it's a price they pay for not keeping other honorable and trustworthy.

Hi, my name is G. I accidentally discover your site, please keep it going.
I will wow to that Baron Auto mall does
suck. I will share my story with you but I am sure you have
heard it before. April of 2005 I went to Baron auto mall in Brooklyn, NY with a
friend of my who wanted to buy a car. That day all I did was gave him a ride and
I became the victim of fraud under Baron's Auto Mall's claw. They talked me
into co-signing for a 2000 Jaguar S types model, but my friend's name was no
where in the original paper. When I question it the manager claimed that after
six months I could come back and my name would be removed. (The contract I
signed had HSBC bank typed at the bottom and later it was crossed off and Wells
Fargo was hand was written there). After three months with the car my friend was
having engine issues. He brought it back to the dealer who will keep it for a
couple days claimed they fixed the problem only to find himself with same
problem thereafter. When six months came I was thrilled to go to removed my name
from the contract like the manager said only to find out that Baron Auto mall
was under new management and change their name to "Drive World". Wait this is
only the beginning ,it gets better. Two month after such news I received a
letter from the warranty company First Assure warranty Corp
(who I pay $5,000 finance into the loan) claimed that they have filed bankruptcy
in the state of Colorado. To make a long story shorts I am stuck with a car that
doesn't work and a car note from wells Fargo totaling $27,000. including
interest. I tried to trade the car in, dealers claimed that it only worth
$1,000. Wells Fargo doesn't care they just want their money. Just a thought, is
it fair to say that Wells Fargo is in on this too? because I see they are the
only named bank involved. Because I don't want my credit to be destroyed, I am
still paying $430.00 monthly to Wells Fargo for a car that is parked. Need $7,000.
to get a new engine. Share my story with others so they would know. Any info you
have that could help me please feel free to write back. Insane right? Just driving a friend to get a car, and get's his butt raped in the meantime by these crooks.

Hey [source's name was here],
I literally just got back, I ended up driving down
to Miami to bring my brother in law down to school, and we took a flight to get
home last night. Sorry I didn't get the chance to respond to your email the
other day.
Let me just say, holy crap! I hope you get
everything you need / want from them. Obviously Joe is finally starting to take
some heat, and it's well deserved. He's been doing this stuff for years, and
it's time to finally turn the tables.
Thanks for the email! Let me know how things turn
out for you guys.
Jake Here is the email response from my source for your own viewing pleasure.
Hey Jake,
Actually, my husband is fed up with Joe because on Saturday during the
phone call he called me a bitch; so he [her husband] does not want to deal with the
unprofessionalism. My husband and I thank you for all that you have done with
putting the website up. Also, Joe mentioned that you are close to going to jail
just to let you know. Also, Joe mentioned that you are close to going to jail. That is FANTASTIC!!! Definitely my favorite part!!!
Now, what makes this so exciting is that I am doing no wrong. In some states, posting a phone number on a website to directly call someone in a story without prior permission is illegal. Fortunately, I live in a state that doesn't follow those rules. Also, I have never posted a phone number or email address other than my own, so I'm pretty sure it's safe to say, I'm not going to jail any time soon.
Also, I work for 2 of the best trial attorney's on Long Island, so if for some reason, I am wrongly jailed, we will turn around and sue. Not only may I make a couple 100k, I will also have a whirlwind of media attention, which will not help Baron or any of their affiliates in any way. Plus the website will be number 1 in all search engines if they decide to take that route. I'm at number eight seven on google only because I was trying to come up with an amicable solution for all these issues. Not because I can't get higher.
Oh, and Joe, can you give me a call when the cops come to take me away? I'd like to be wearing one of my nice polo's before I go away!

Ok, so this site has been up for quite some time now, just over 9 months as of last week. And the site tends to generate more traffic every month.
So, let's run down the numbers.
As of July, the site generated 213 visits (just for July). Now, of those visits, 88.42% of those visits were new visitors. Which means, for the month of July, we have had 188.3346 new visitors! The other 24.6654 visitors are people coming back to see what's going on with the site, or checking to see if it's still up and running.
I'm thinking I may start accepting bids for advertising on the site. Drop me an email if you're interested. My email is right underneath this post!

Here's an email from Howard about Baron Auto of Jamaica
Here is the latest update on Baron Jamaica that I thought you and your readers
might be interested to know. In Oct. 2007 the Department of Motors Vehicles and
the NYC police raided the used vehicle facility and confiscated most of the
computers. Unfortunately rumor has it that the hard drive they were looking for
was surreptitiously removed. It is alleged that phony pay check stubs, illegal
drivers licenses, and phony employment verification scams were only some of the
unethical means Baron was supervising in order to sell a vehicle. Although the
consumer with bad credit might have been happy to be driving, Baron sure made
them pay for it! Any one who fell victim to the Baron scam should not be naïve
to think that Baron himself did not know what was going on. Signing blank
contracts and then adding etch for $5000, or a warranty for $3000 was going on
in Jamaica at an alarming rate. Baron feeds his greedy pockets by preying on
the uneducated trusting consumer. I do not understand how this man is not in
jail! The good news is it seems his greed might have finally gotten the best of
him because another store bit the dust. Where did all the employees go? I bet
the sleaziest ones ended up at another Baron location, maybe Hillside or Yonkers
and they will just perpetuate the Baron repugnant way of doing business.
Thanks for the time Howard, you're awesome!

This is a story from a reader by the name of Dee. Unedited, just as all prior emails. Check it out, I hope you guys find it as intriguing as I do! This story takes place at the Baron Auto on Hollis Avenue in Queens, NY.
Hi Jake
Dude I love your website. A friend just emailed me your website
link. Last year I was looking for a car in a local newspaper. At the time I
drove a 2001 Lexus GS and was car shopping for my wife. I came across and ad for
a 2003 Grey Lincoln LS for a decent price so I decided to check it out. I
arrived at Baron Auto Mall on Jamaica Ave in Hollis, NY and asked to speak to a
salesman about the car and was told to wait a while. They offered me a cup of
coffee and were very polite. I waited about 10 minutes and then decided to go
outside for a smoke. When I came back they said that the salesman for the car is
still not available. I started to get frustrated and asked to see the car
anyway. I was again told not to worry and just sit and wait a bit longer. I sat
again for another 10 minutes and took it upon myself to look at the car without
assistance. When I got to the showroom to my surprise the salesman was by the
car with a mechanic and smoke was coming out of the engine. They had me in the
front for 30 minutes trying to clear out all the smoke before they showed me the
car. When I asked him what the problem was he told me not to worry about it and
they will have the car serviced and the problem would be fixed. I was no longer
interested in the car. The salesman wanted to show me other cars but first he
wanted to run my credit. I told him that it was OK and I saw a few cars that I
took interest in. I signed a release and gave then my driver's license.
The next 4 hours was hell. Not only did they show me cars
that I noticed had problems but they showed me cars way out of my price range. I
would have just walked out of there but the sales manager disappeared with my
license and no one could find him. I realized I was being held hostage until I
made a deal. Anyway I never did get a car from them and I have several friends
and co-works with similar stories.
For anyone who gets to read this understand this at BARON AUTO
MALL they are all the same. They send these salesmen to school to learn how to
be shady. You walking in there is like a lamb being sent to the lions den. You
have little of no chance. I would never return to any of there locations.
I have a friend who went to the Selden location that had an
issue and it took 4 months to correct it. She went to co-sign on a loan and
instead her name was the only one on the paper work. THESE PEOPLE ARE SHARKS.
Money is thier only goal. In their business they also have a saying there is an
ass for every seat. Please don't become one. Thanks for the story Dee, we are all now more knowledgeable because of your contribution. Thank you for your time!

It's been way too long. I've been extremely busy with a lot of other things going on in my life, and I would like to thank everyone for their emails that I have received in the past 6 months. I am now available to start posting these emails, and I hope everyone enjoys the antics of Baron Auto and the Baron franchise that has been plaguing the industry for a long time.
Here is one of the first emails I ever received about the site. It's a hate email! Gotta love these, they are so awesome in so many ways, that I can't help but keep pushing further with what I do!
i typed in baron auto and went to your site yto see what it was, and let me tell
you, you are one pretty fucked up guy. You do realize that they are 2nd biggest
used car dealers in newyork and that is only one of their dealerships, and one
salesman or manager. You must be pretty peacthetic to make a website. Do you
have a LIFE? thats all and have a nice day.
That is the EXACT email I received unedited. I hope everyone enjoys it. He was probably an employee at the time.
Oh, and don't worry, i'll be posting just about 1 or 2x a day to get everyone up to date on all the emails!

Ok, so i've heard the term Buyer Beware many times. And I am totally ok with the fact that i've gotten screwed out of large sum of money from Baron Auto. It still doesn't make it ok the way they do business.
Regardless of what has occurred in the last 2 years, I am no longer going to sit back and say its ok for people to take advantage of other people. I have been a web designer for about 6 years now, and I have NEVER taken advantage of anyone. I believe that good business practices will allow me to prevail in the future. And I should never have to steal or lie to make money.
So, on the development of this site, I also have another 'generic' site that is going up for people who have been screwed by companies over the years. This is the chance for the consumers to speak to the business', and the business' to fix any issues that they may have with their consumers.
Think of it more like a Better Business Bureau, with easy access to records about the companies and the complaints filed against them.
I called the site The Local Word of Mouth. I hope its a success and we can get some of these issues resolved over time.
